Katsidis: Final boxing journey had to be with Brendon

‘The Great’ is back in action on July 8 as he aims to build on his March comeback win and has hooked up with Smith for the third time following a recent parting of ways just a short time before Katsidis lost badly to Tommy Coyle in the UK.

Toowoomba-native Katsidis is now happily preparing for his clash in Victoria in few weeks’ time and has dreams of one final push to a massive fight that would sign off his career in style with his long-time pal by his side.

“There are only a few steps of my final journey in boxing left and the first step had to be getting back to where it all began training with Brendon,” Katsidis exclusively told World Boxing News.

“There was some lost time due to various reasons, but I only have a short time left and this time it’s about doing it the right way with Brendon and with that comes success.

“We have enjoyed some great times together and hopefully there will be some more to come,” he added.

An opponent for what will be a 39th career outing for Katsidis is still being sought by manager Brian Amatruda as the Aussie slugger continues his journey on home soil this summer.
