Ogogo added to Atlantic City bill after debut statement of intent

The 24 year-old looked every inch the hot prospect with his impressive performance after catching Gray with a stunning shot in the second round that put the Telford veteran in no position to continue the fight.

Ogogo now moves on to a high-profile second outing in Atlantic City on the undercard of the world title double involving Lamont Peterson, Lucas Matthysee, Devon Alexander and compatriot Lee Purdy on May 18 at the Boardwalk Hall. The promising middleweight has all the charisma and ability to make some quick headway in the sport and could adhere himself to the wider American market with a similar showing in just under three weeks time.

The Golden Boy card, on which Phil Lo Greco will also take on Shawn Porter, was originally due to feature unbeaten welterweight Kell Brook, although ‘The Special One’ was forced to pull out his IBF title bout after suffering an injury in training.
