Booth is almost ready to announce the comeback opponent for Haye, who makes his first appearance for almost a year on June 29, but hopes to open talks with Mick Hennessy over a huge domestic clash with Fury as both edge towards a world title shot.
“David against Fury is the most natural heavyweight fight out there. It is the most logical high profile fight in Great Britain, if not the world, right now,” Booth told British tabloid The Sun.
“Both boxers are great entertainers, Tyson is doing a great job inside and outside the ring, David is a former two time world champion and his celebrity status has never been higher and importantly both have a top-10 world ranking.
“It would be a huge event anywhere in the country. It wouldn’t matter if it was London or at a Manchester football stadium. It would be massive.
“I am waiting to make contact with Fury’s promoter to see if the interest expressed in some of Fury’s comments about David are genuine or just hot air from a young fighter.
“We are ready to reveal David’s next opponent very soon and contracts are being finalised but anything can happen in boxing.
“I’ve read Fury wants the fight, he says he can knock out David, so let’s see if we can make it happen.”
Fury, 24, dispatched another former cruiserweight world champion in Steve Cunningham last week in New York and is thought to favour an IBF eliminator against Kubrat Pulev, possibly in Ireland – rather than a meeting against one-time WBA title holder Haye in the UK.
