Cleverly eases to Krasniqi win as Chisora labours past Avila

The 26 year-old was never in any danger at any point in the contest, and apart from a dip in the mid-rounds, was a worthy winner as the judges at ringside came back with cards reading 120-108 twice and 119-109, which could not be argued.

In the last fight of the night, Dereck Chisora entertained more with his ring entrance than his efforts inside the ropes as the Finchley man stopped a podgy Hector Avila in nine painful rounds.

The sessions were not so much painful for the Argentinian, but rather the crowd, who left in their droves as Chisora found it hard to get out of first gear despite Don Charles’ strong words in the corner.

Coming in to Coldplay’s ‘Fix You’ dressed as ‘Bane’ from Batman: The Dark Knight Rises was as good as it got for the patient fans, who has waited thirteen fights and eight hours to watch Chisora get back to winning ways.

Earlier, Steve O’Meara won a six-round decision over Chas Symonds as the referee gave the Londoner a 58-56 victory – despite a point deduction in the final round.
