Former world champions and heavyweight hope gain wins

One-time WBA heavyweight champion Ruslan Chagaev and former WBC super-featherweight title holder Vitali Tajbert both gained eight round wins, whilst former cruiserweight king Firat Arslan and unbeaten heavyweight Denis Boytsov gained knockouts at the Grand Elysée in Hamburg, Germany tonight.

Chagaev, 33, who failed last time out in an attempt to regain his WBA belt against Alexander Povetkin, out-classed tough Trinidadian Kertson Manswell to improve to 28-2-1 whilst Tajbert, 29, scored his second win since losing his title to Takahiro Ao in Japan.

Tajbert took the contest against Venezuelan Jose Luis Graterol 79-73, 78-74 and 78-76 to inflict the eleventh career defeat on the former IBF International title challenger and take his record to 22-2.

Former WBA cruiserweight champion Firat Arslan stopped Orlando Farias in two rounds to score his third straight stoppage since losing back-to-back world title bouts to Guillermo Jones and Steve Helenius.

The 41 year-old is now 32-5-1 after claming his 21st knockout and will move a step closer to challenging for another world title after reigning for over a year from 2007-2008 before losing his title to Jones.

25 year-old heavyweight knockout specialist Boytsov scored the 30th win of his six and a half-year career with his 25th knockout against American former cruiserweight Darnell Wilson, ending the bout in the fourth.
