Former WBC super-middleweight champion Robin Reid continued his comeback with a second win in a row by stopping Daniel Cadman in the fifth round at York Hall in Bethnal Green.

The 40 year-old had too much class in the end for the Essex man and after a cagey few opening rounds, Reid ploughed a crisp right hand into Cadman’s face, wobbling the younger fighter, who looked out of his feet.

The ‘Grim Reaper’ then followed up with some powerful shots to floor Cadman and the fight was stopped 80 seconds in the fifth session. The win represented the veterans 42nd career victory as he marches towards a possible shot at the English title currently in Paul David’s possession.

Also on the bill, up and comer John Ryder made light work of late replacement Mariusz Biskupski with an impressive second round technical knockout win to improve to 9-0 with his sixth stoppage.

The was also victories for Andreas Evangelou (4-0), Wadi Camacho on his debut and Ryan Taylor (3-0-1) on the card topped by Carl Frampton’s Commonwealth title defence against Kris Hughes.
