Former world champion gains TKO victory

Former WBO light-heavyweight champion Jurgen Braehmer returned to action for the first time in almost two years - more than eight months after being stripped of his title for not defending against Nathan Cleverly.

The 33 year-old stopped stand-in opponent Jose Maria Guerrero, who was lined up to fight James DeGale at  168lbs until the bout was scrapped, in four rounds to gain his 37th career win and remains undefeated in over three years.

Also on the packed bill at the Grand Elysee in Hamburg, Germany, unbeaten cruiserweight Rakhim Chakhkiev moved to 12-0 with a ten-round victory over Alexander Kotlobay to rip the WBC Baltic title from his grasp

Chakhkiev, 29, took a unanimous win on points with the judges and ‘The Machine’ will gain a healthy boost in the WBC rankings as a result of him picking up one of the organisations fringe belts.
