Howard Eastman in Guyanese title bid on October 29

‘Battersea Bomber’ looking to reverse losing form

Former British, Commonwealth and European middleweight champion Howard Eastman will fight for the 55th time on October 29th at Thirst Park in Ruimveldt, Guyana.

Eastman, 40, who was originally born in New Amsterdam, Guyana but spent most of his boxing career in the UK, moved back to his native Guyana in 2008 after losing his British title to Wayne Elcock, quickly followed by a close defeat to the now-retired John Duddy.

The ‘Battersea Bomber’ will now be hoping to stop a recent slump that has saw him lose his last two bouts and meets Edmund DeClou (7-1-1) for the vacant Guyana middleweight title after previously holding  the title in 2008.

The two-time world title challenger has taken the likes of Arthur Abraham, William Joppy and current world champion Bernard Hopkins the distance in his seventeen-year career and will need a win to justify the continuation of his title-laden time in boxing.
