Cleverly and Bellew pulled apart at electric weigh-in

Atmosphere building ahead of British battle

WBO light-heavyweight champion Nathan Cleverly looked pumped up at today’s Liverpool weigh-in ahead of his second title defence against home fighter Tony ‘The Bomber’ Bellew.

The 24 year-old from Cefn Forest easily made the 175lb limit, scaling three quarters of a pound under and looked 100% ready to meet the challenge he will face from not only Bellew, but the Partizan Echo Arena crowd.

Bellew, 28, hit the light-heavyweight limit bang on and with hundreds of fans behind him, seemed to have an air of confidence that he could take the world belt from the Welshman tomorrow night.

Cleverly seemed to almost jump off the scale to go head to head with the Scouser and both fighters, once again, had to be pulled apart before things took an ugly turn.

All the needle just seems to spice things up even more for the upcoming battle between Britian’s top two 175lb fighters and the fight promises to be a ‘Fight of the Year’ contender if the build-up is anything to go by.

James DeGale and Piort Wilczewski also weighed in ahead of their European super-middleweight title fight with ‘Chunky’ coming in a pound under the 168lb limit and the champion matching the former British title holder.
