Klitschko manager reveals talks are ongoing

The mass hysteria over David Haye’s so-called ‘retirement’ is largely premature according to the Klitschko’s manager Bernd Boente who spoke to Sky Sports News in the last hour.

Haye, 30, was reported by the British Boxing Board of Control’s secretary Robert Smith to have decided against renewing his boxing license but according to Boende, the bout with either of the Klitschko brothers is still a possibility.

"Haye's manager Adam Booth always told me that he will retire on Thursday, his 31st birthday, and will definitely come back if there is a fight against Vitali or a rematch against Wladimir," stated Boente, "This opportunity is still there.”

The Londoner has been constantly linked to a bout with WBC champion Vitali Klitschko after losing a unanimous decision to younger brother Wladimir in the summer and the ‘Hayemaker’ has stated that this is the only fight that he would break his retirement for.

The boxing license issue just seems to be a smokescreen that will not affect the outcome of whether Haye fights Vitali next year and any announcement will just be to save face in the event that the two fail to agree terms.
