Audley: If I retire now, that'll undo all the good work I’ve done

Harrison to make comeback after TV show

Former European heavyweight champion Audley Harrison has promised to return to boxing after finishing his stint on the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing and has admitted that one more loss in the ring would be too much to take.

The 39 year-old, who won gold at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, is currently appearing on the hit TV show with the likes of ex-footballer Robbie Savage and actress Holly Valance and will embark on a boxing comeback next year.

"My future right now is dancing and then I'm going back to boxing for one more shot," he told Sportsbeat.

"If I get any more injuries, any more losses then I'm done, but I can't retire for life yet, it would undo all the good work I've done so far in my career.

"I will give boxing one more shot and see what I have left in the tank, if I haven't got anything it will be clear in the training camp but I want one more go at it.”

‘A-Force’ last fought in November 2010 against the now-retired David Haye in a forgettable performance where he hardly threw a punch and it seems he is attempting to rebuild his reputation through the TV show before he tries to erase the memory of his tame three-round world title challenge.

"I don't have any regrets. The Olympics will always be my legacy. I will never been an undisputed world champion but I will always have that Olympic gold medal and no British fighter had ever won that title at the Olympics.

"I'm happy with that and from where I've come from, being 19 years of age and from a broken home, to having a degree, winning an Olympic gold for my country and being awarded an MBE.

"Whatever my critics say, I'm a guy who's turned his life around and done good."
