49th WBC Convention hits Las Vegas in December

To speak about Las Vegas is to speak about the world´s entertainment capital. A city that would seem unreal , a true amusement park full of color, lights, music and nightlife. A dreamlike, live and fun spot. However, this fantasy- emerged city has not always been the paradise it is today.
Located in the Mojave Desert, the area was scarcely populated by the Paiutes. In 1855, a Group of mormons sent by Brigham Young, aiming to convert the local dwellers , settled there. In 1864, the army built Fort Baker, which resulted in an important population increase.  Nonetheless, it was the arrival of the railroads in 1905 what triggered the city´s expansion. Several years later, in 1931, gambling became legal, thus launching the fame of Las Vegas  around the globe. The city, one of huge potential and in the middle of its development saw the rising of some of its emblematic Hotel-Casinos: The Rancho Las Vegas, The Flamingo and The Last Frontier. In 1950, the already- attractive gambling offer broadened to musical, theatrical and nightshow offer of the highest quality.
It is noteworthy that Las Vegas, always at the forefront, shows  the fastest- growing rate  in the nation. With its Amazing thematic Hotels and thrilling shows, United States most glamorous city, seeking always  to offer the best of the best, disposessed New York City from the title of “Boxing Capital”, thus moving the fights from the coast to the desert.
Boxing is again the world´s cynosure. The bright lights await for you. Join us in the 49th WBC Convention, from december 11th to 17th.
