‘S.O.G’ sees a tough battle with Carl Froch

Undefeated WBA super-middleweight champion Andre Ward is ready to put everything on the line to show the boxing world that he is the real deal and that he will walk away from Atlantic City as the unified 168lb champion and first ever Super-Six tournament winner.

Ward, 27, who laughed off Carl Froch’s comments about his lack of a punch at the UK presser, is expecting his hardest career fight when the two square up at The Boardwalk Hall on October 29^th and is preparing for a twelve round war with the two-time world champion.

“I have heard it before," Ward told Sky Sports News.

"It’s not the first time someone has said that (about my power)and it won’t be the last but I do know that I get it done and that’s what’s important.

“My toughness and my roughness is underestimated. You know when Andre Ward is rough I am dirty, but when Carl is rough then that’s his style and he gets praise for it so I guess it’s who you ask and it’s how you look at it.

“He can expect a little bit more in our fight because he opens himself up and he gives you a lot more shots than Arthur Abraham so you’re going to see a lot more in our fight than you did against Abraham.

“It’s going to be as tough as it could possibly be, mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually.

“We are going to do what we always do. We’re not just going to start working hard, we have been doing that for years and we are going to continue doing that as we try to close the show in this Super-Six.”

The winner of Showtime finale will take home the WBA ‘super’, WBC and Ring Magazine titles, along with the trophy, a place in the WBN Pound for Pound Top 5 and the tag of being the best super-middleweight fighter in the world.
