Kapt’n Huck wants to make Godfrey a lost boy

German-based Serb confident of keeping grip on WBO Cruiserweight belt

World Crusierweight Champion Marco “Kapt’n” Huck defends his WBO belt for the fourth time this Saturday night at the Messehalle in Erfut, Thuringen in Germany against 20-1-0 American challenger Matt “Too Smooth” Godfrey.

Huck (29-1-0) is unbeaten in his last ten bouts, since a twelth round knockout loss in 2007 to another American Steven Cunningham as he challenged for the IBF crown and has 22 knockout’s on his impressive record.

The former European Champion is in confident mood after capturing the WBO title in August 2009 with a unanimous points victory over Argentinian Victor Emilio Ramirez and defending it since against the likes of Ola Afolabi and Brian Minto.

“My fans love my aggressiveness and explosiveness and I will make sure Matt Godfrey will get a good taste of it,” Huck said.

“I am just too explosive for him, The belt stays in Germany.”

I want to put on another spectacular performance and defeat Godfrey in style,” Added the champion.

Prepared: Godfrey
Matt Godfrey comes into the contest with a less imposing knockout record of ten out his twenty victories and hasn’t fought in almost a year since beating Michael Simms on split decision.

The challenger though, doesn’t believe that will hinder him, he is unbeaten in four and hopes to take the title back to the USA and be the first American since Tyrone Booze back in 1992 to hold the WBO version.

“I might not have the hardest punch, but I am smarter than Huck,” said the challenger.
“He’s a big strong guy and a very good puncher, He’s a little limited in some of the things he can do, but he’s very consistent in a lot of the things he does do.”

"He’s the champion for a reason. He didn’t get 29 wins and 22 knockouts by accident, but we had a great camp to prepare for it, It will be a great fight. ”

The vacant European Heavyweight title will also be on the line as Finland’s Robert Helenius takes on Frenchman Gregory Tony on the same bill.
